Farm Forum #4: Raise your Voice! How can Boulder Land Use Policy to better support Robust Local Food Systems and Farmers
All Welcome. Potluck & Discussion. Jan. 11th. 6-9pm. Altona Grange.
As citizens we have an obligation to shape public land use policy in our community. Boulder is a leader in renewable energy, all sorts of science, environmental activism, impact investing, natural foods and more. How can Boulder also be a beacon of change in land use and agriculture? ⠀
Boulder County seeks input on agricultural land use policy. Boulder County Agriculture Outreach is hosting the open house in Longmont on January 18th, when they will address the comments submitted by the public. Public comments are due January 12th. ⠀
There are significant challenges, prohibitive regulations and limitations on land-use that restrict the creativity and economic possibility of good agriculture that enriched our landscape. A range of Boulder County farmers will share their perspectives on needed change to set the stage for community dialogue and breakout groups.⠀
Come to learn, share and discover how to make a difference. Farmers need our help. Everyone is welcome. Childcare is free for kids over 5 years old.
Mad Agriculture will carry the work to the Purple Door café (Hygiene, CO) on the morning of January 12th to help complete individual comments.⠀
